today someone saw the cover of the omnivore's dilemma, and asked me what the dilemma was. and then he asked me what interest i had in reading about food and farming and etc. to which i replied that i read all kinds of things. so here are a few of the things i'd like to read:
the omnivore's dilemma: a natural history of four meals
i don't: a contrarian history of marriage
descartes' bones: a skeletal history of the conflict between faith and reason
traffic: why we drive the way we do
snark: it's mean, it's personal, and it's ruining our conversation
collapse: how societies choose to fail or succeed
the spiral staircase: my climb out of darkness
owls and other fantasies
just to name a few. and you? what would you like to read?
Wow, I have only heard of two of these! I'll have to look into them. I actually can't think right now of books I want to read...sad, but my brain is tired! I usually just go to the library/store and pick books that look interesting!
ReplyDeletei found most of these in just that way. the omnivore's dilemma is great--definitely worth a read, though it might ruin some food for you for a bit...
ReplyDeletei forgot to list _beyond heaving bosoms: the smart bitches' guide to romance_; just because it sounds like fun.
