  3. it's been a while since i lived in so cal (more than 14 years, in fact), but i don't remember the santa anas as magical and wonderful - more like devilish and miserable. :o(

  6. you are insane. there is nothing delightful in the moisture-sucking winds blowing around outside today. they are death, IMO. (sorry if that's a bit strong for ya, but I really miss the drizzly cool of last week).

  8. Not magical when accompanied by fire and smoke.

  9. they're always accompanied by fire and smoke, that's why they're called the "devil winds." in fact, i think scholars have decided that, despite the fact the translation was lost ages ago, that santa ana means "winds from hell."

  10. look people, go somewhere else and rain on someone else's parade. the winds are beautiful. i love them. i'm sorry if they provoke your allergies. that's crappy. and yes. it's not good to have fires. but maybe we should have thought about that before we decided that southern california is heaven on earth. the fires, after all, are a force of nature that we chose to deal with when we chose to live here--just like the earthquakes.

and frankly, i prefer to find the beauty in my world rather than the annoyances.
